About the Role
This role will see you transporting loads interstate between Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane (exact trip will vary depending on candidate location, as we are hiring across a number of sites).
We’ve streamlined the process of job allocation and documentation via an app that sends job details directly to your phone, as well as fitted electronic diaries in each truck. That means you’ll have instant access to the tools you need to complete the job, with less time spent on admin.
Though this is a full-time role, we are also open to negotiating a casual employment contract.
Please note: all Freestone's Transport vehicles are manual. If you are unable to operate a manual vehicle, please do not apply.
About You
Although demonstrated experience as a linehaul driver will be viewed favourably, we have also found that individuals who have previously worked as drivers for public transport (e.g. coach drivers, bus drivers, etc) or from the aviation industry are usually well-suited for roles of this nature.
Ideally, you will have about three years of prior experience and will be reasonably fit and healthy (some past injuries okay - we have drivers on-site who have sustained injuries previously and they are able to perform the job well).
Some other requirements for this position include:
- Valid MC heavy vehicle licence
- Ability to operate a manual vehicle (we do not have any automatic transmission vehicles available - please do not apply if you are unable to drive manual)
- Fitness to Drive medical results (or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement of employment)
- Fatigue Management certification
- Willingness to learn how to operate simple electronic diaries system
